Community Group Sessions

If your life is anything like mine has been so far, the financial season we are in can change with a moment’s notice. I have thought for many years that the best support we can give one another is the sharing of our experiences, especially what worked for us in those circumstances and what didn’t.  While preparing for emergencies is necessary, there are just some things you cannot fully prepare for that require more resources than you anticipate. By joining a group and sharing those experiences, we can learn tips to manage life’s most difficult and most joyous moments. Let’s build a community together that is not limited to geographical boundaries.

What you will experience:

These zoom gatherings will be held at scheduled times and allow for people all across the country to be a part of the conversation. Each group will have a host (monitoring the chat and technology) and a presenter (a trained financial coach). We will begin with everyone muted and have a short devotion and prayer. Each group session will have guided topics of conversation with plenty of time for sharing. There will also be a scheduled question time. You may post your questions at any time during the meeting and the host will keep track of them. At the end of the session, the presenter will wrap-up with closing thoughts and prayer.

Burden

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Psalms 55:22 NIV

This verse reminds me that when our world is shaken by the ebb and flow of life, we are sustained by Him if we are faithful to Him.  Sometimes we do not want to let go.  Instead, we hold on to our own troubles and look for ourselves or others to fix it.  When money is tight or when someone is in a tough situation, the last thing most people want to do is ask for help.  It is not always an issue of pride, it just may be that you do not know exactly what you need in the middle of the mess.  People empathize or sympathize with you and you may commonly be told, “let me know if you need anything”.  Do they really mean “anything”? Many times, they are willing to do most things.  During the season of burden, we need to remind ourselves it is okay to not know exactly what you need, it is okay to ask for little things that will make part of your day easier, and it is normal to feel overwhelmed.  In this group, we will discuss some of life’s burdensome situations and encourage one another as we seek and share resources.

Privacy & Accountability

All participants will sign a waiver prior to the session that protects confidentiality of the group conversation and of the identity of participants and members.

All participants are expected to show respect to others, dress appropriately, and not engage in any activity that may distract other members. While not speaking, members should be muted to limit noises. Cameras are expected to be visible at all times. Should a participant need to respond to a family member, we ask that the camera be turned off only temporarily (with the expectation that the member will return within a few minutes).

All meetings are recorded for liability purposes.  These recordings will not be available to view by participants.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

A participant may cancel anytime up to one hour prior to the scheduled time and receive a full refund. If it is within the hour prior to start time, they will receive a partial refund of 50%.  Monthly members may cancel their subscription at any time but will not receive a full refund unless it is within 24 hours of the purchase. Otherwise, the refund will be prorated by days of the monthly subscription remaining.
